What is a Live Out Nanny?

A live out nanny, or external nanny, is a childcare professional that works with a family on a full time or part time basis but does not live with the family. A live out nanny is sometimes also referred to as a day nanny. Any additional work in the form of occasional babysitting will need to be agreed in advance and paid in addition to any agreed contracted hours.
